Saint-Aubin

Saint Aubin

One of my favorite Burgundy regions for high quality wine (especially whites) for less money than you may expect. The proximity to the great vineyards around the Montrachets, combined with excellent farmers, can make these wines soar out of the glass. However, being Burgundy, you have to be careful. Forgettable Saint-Aubin is made deep in the hills past the village of Gamay.

Hint: seek out the Premier Crus of En Remilly and Mugers de Dents de Chein.

Buying advice: producers that you enjoy and respect from other regions, if they make a Saint-Aubin then go for it. Don’t pick random bottles from producers you don’t recognize.
