The red wines of Friuli are the minority, and as mentioned in the video, overlooked.
The two most important grapes are Merlot and Cabernet Franc, each of which performs a bit different in Friuli compared to, say, Napa Valley or Bordeaux. The native red grape varieties are highly individualistic and in my opinion best enjoyed there in Friuli, surrounded by the local people and the local foods. It’s a cultural thing!
