Trentino-Alto Adige and Friuli

Here we get into two regions that are very different from the rest of Italy!

Friuli, on the border with Slovenia, makes some of the best white wines of the country. These are wonderfully textured, rich, and detailed wines. Alto Adige is also well known for their whites, which are more alpine and high-toned in nature (high acids).

Both of these regions are incredible, and Alto Adige in particular is a region to visit at some point. Spend a few days there, for it’s one of the most beautiful wine regions on the planet.
